D·Diary: Life Coordinates

1. Who we are

D·Diary is a personal journaling app developed by Gongming Liu ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy describes how the current app handles information. D·Diary does not require a separate developer-operated account. Your Apple Account is used by Apple for services such as iCloud and App Store purchases.

2. Information you choose to create

The app processes the content you create or import: timeline titles and milestone dates; journal titles and text; moods, tags, and achievement markers; photos, audio, video, and other attachments; places or geographic coordinates you add; and dates, identifiers, and settings used to organize your journal.

This content is used to display and organize your memories, calculate journal statistics, and provide features such as reminders, synchronization, backups, and exports. Photo-based color themes are generated on your device. The app does not upload those photos to a developer-operated AI or image-analysis service.

3. Local storage, iCloud, and backups

Journal content and settings are stored on your device. When iCloud is available and permitted by your device settings, the app uses Apple's private CloudKit database to synchronize journal data, including attachments, through your iCloud account. We do not operate a separate server that receives your journal content.

The app also attempts to create daily backups in its iCloud Drive Backups folder when the service is available. Manual backups and safety copies made before a restore may also contain journal text, location information, and original media. The app rotates older automatic backups after confirming cloud upload; pending backups, manual backups, and exported copies may remain longer and must be managed separately. A device identifier is used to distinguish backup files and retention on different devices, not for advertising.

Synchronization and backup are separate features: deleting current journal content does not automatically erase its earlier backup copies. iCloud storage and processing are provided by Apple under its own terms and privacy policy. Device backups may also contain app data, depending on your Apple settings.

4. Permissions and optional features

Photos: Apple's system picker provides the photos or videos you select. Selected media can be attached to entries; a selected image can also be used to generate a color theme. When you capture media, the app may request permission to save an additional copy to your Photos library.

Camera and microphone: used when you choose to capture a photo, record a video, or make an audio recording. The resulting media may be stored with your journal and included in synchronization, backups, or exports.

Location and maps: location permission is used when you ask to add your current location. You can also select or search for a place. The app does not continuously track your location in the background. Map display, searches, and place-name lookup use Apple services, which may receive search terms, map areas, and coordinates needed to fulfill the request. See Apple Maps & Privacy.

Notifications: when you enable reminders and authorize notifications, iOS schedules local reminders that may appear on your Lock Screen. Manage notification visibility in iOS Settings.

You can decline optional permissions and continue using basic text-journaling features. You can change permissions later in iOS Settings; a feature requiring a declined permission may be unavailable.

5. Purchases and subscription information

Apple handles subscriptions, Lifetime Pro purchases, promotional code redemption, payments, and refunds. StoreKit provides the app with verified purchase and entitlement information, such as a product identifier, transaction status, expiration, revocation, or offer information, so the app can unlock or restore Pro access.

We do not receive your payment card details or Apple Account password. Apple's processing of App Store and purchase information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

6. Sharing, external services, and diagnostics

We do not sell your personal information or share journal content with advertisers or data brokers. The current app has no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.

Exports and backups can contain sensitive journal content. Files are saved or shared to the destination you choose, including iCloud Drive or another app. Recipients and services you choose handle those copies under their own policies. External links, including historical references and support pages, open services with their own privacy practices.

Apple may provide us with app usage statistics, crash reports, or TestFlight feedback under Apple's settings and programs. The app also uses system diagnostic logging for technical errors. These reports may include device and software details and diagnostic information. We use information made available to us to troubleshoot and improve the app, not to build advertising profiles.

If you contact us, we receive the email address, message, and any attachments you send. Please avoid sending private journal content unless necessary for your request. We use support correspondence to respond and resolve issues, and retain it only as reasonably needed for support, security, or legal obligations. Email delivery providers process messages as part of delivering that correspondence.

7. Retention, deletion, and your choices

You control the journal content stored in the app. You can edit or delete entries and timelines using the app's controls, export your information, and manage app permissions and iCloud access through Apple settings. Archiving a timeline is not the same as deleting its entries.

Deleting synchronized content can propagate to other devices when synchronization completes. Removing the app does not necessarily remove iCloud copies, backups, media saved to Photos, or files you exported. Manage backups through Backup & Restore or Files/iCloud Drive, and delete exported and Photos copies separately if you no longer want them. Apple may retain recovery copies under its own service policies.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of personal information we hold, or to raise a concern with a relevant authority. Contact us to request help with information you supplied directly, such as support messages. We cannot directly retrieve or erase your private journal from your device or private iCloud account; use the app and Apple controls for that content. We do not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

8. Security

D·Diary uses storage and data-protection mechanisms provided by Apple. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Protect your device and Apple Account, and keep sensitive backups and exports in trusted locations. Portable backup and export files are not password-protected by D·Diary. Do not assume they are safe to share merely because they came from the app.

9. Children's privacy

D·Diary is a general-audience journaling tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through a developer-operated service. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can address it. Applicable local age requirements and Apple Account rules also apply.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the app changes. The current version is available in App Settings with its Last updated date. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent for material changes when required, and update applicable App Store privacy disclosures.
